About Sustainable Organisations Limited
by the founder, Roger Martin
So... is an organisational consultancy that I incorporated in England & Wales in 2004 (Company No. 5127638) and launched in 2005. It also trades as Bucks Business Tuition to deliver one-to-one coaching. The company is:
- small, but it draws on ‘big organisation’ experience and a growing network of like-minded professionals*;
- new, but it’s powered by decades of hybrid know-how to fit today’s complexity; and
- up to date with fresh insights from multiple sources.
Serving London, Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the Thames Valley.
We prefer to serve only this part of the UK in order to build sustainable long-term relationships with our clients.

Our building has proved ‘sustainable’ for 450 years, and we hope to be here for some time, too!
**People+Systems** is our core know-how. (More? See What we do). We serve our clients in a flexible and mature manner that respects all confidences. Questioning is one of our key skills, helping you get to the root cause of your problems economically. An intervention aims to leave you confident that your organisation owns a robust solution that adds to your corporate longevity. (More? See How we work).
Roger Martin, BA, MSc, MBCS CITP, PMABP
MD and Principal Consultant
I bring a wealth of experience in both internal and external consultancy roles, having worked in medium- and large-scale enterprises in the UK engineering, telecoms, finance, utilities and government sectors.
‘People & Technology’ has been the recurring, fascinating theme for me, with my early experience of computer programming, systems analysis and systems auditing woven in with my later psychology degrees.
For example, in the late ’eighties, I managed a team contracted to support the users in the computerisation of the UK government’s (then) Department of Health & Social Security. (One of our early achievements was to get Job Design into the client’s formal system development process).
Later, I moved to BT’s huge Research & Development centre, and managed and took part in many human and organisational factors projects. This was during a particularly interesting and extended period of corporate reorganisation and downsizing. It threw up real opportunities to develop and apply human and organisational know-how, e.g. in respect of knowledge management and flexible working.
Memberships include:
Principal Member, Association of Business Psychologists;
Member, British Psychological Society (Division of Occupational Psychology);
Member & Chartered IT Professional, British Computer Society.
*So... is pleased to be associated with like-minded consultants who (in my view) ‘think systems’ and respect the people within them – e.g. Missenden Business Solutions Ltd and Elmgables Associates.

So... we’re here to help you do it
